On a beautiful day in May 2016, Rodney Cool traveled to Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland to document the wedding of Xin and Xiaoyu. Ceresville Mansion blends historic architecture with a fresh, modern sensibility — an ideal setting for a couple looking to honor tradition while making the day entirely their own.

The First Look

Xin and Xiaoyu chose to share a first look before the ceremony — a quiet, private moment that allowed them to see each other and settle any nerves before the day's events unfolded. The groom and the bride's father also shared a special first look, a gesture that added a layer of warmth and connection to the morning.

The Ceremony

The couple exchanged vows in an indoor ceremony on the mansion's historic grounds. Soft natural light filled the room, casting a gentle glow over the proceedings. Rodney's images from the day capture the quiet intensity of the moment — the exchanged glances, the clasped hands, the tears and laughter from family and friends gathered close.

The Reception

Following the ceremony, guests celebrated with an elegant reception on the property. The evening unfolded with dinner, toasts, and dancing, all set against the mansion's timeless backdrop. Every detail reflected Xin and Xiaoyu's style, and the joy in the room was unmistakable.

The Vendors

This wedding was brought to life by a talented team of local vendors:
