In August 2016, Rodney Cool traveled across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Kent Island, Maryland, to photograph the wedding of Amanda and Jimmy at Silver Swan Bayside. The venue sits right at the water's edge, with a marina stretching behind it — a setting that blends coastal charm with relaxed elegance.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held outdoors, with the marina and open water serving as a natural backdrop. Earlier in the day, a sudden windstorm swept through, but it passed just before the ceremony began, leaving behind soft light and calm breezes. The bride and groom shared a first look outdoors before exchanging vows in front of family and friends.
The Reception
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued on-site. The waterfront setting carried into the evening, with the marina lights reflecting across the bay as guests danced and celebrated the newlyweds.
